Loan
insurance
Members can purchase the following optional, low cost insurance services through their
credit union. Certain restrictions may apply.
Credit
life insurance with a total & permanent disability benefit up to $50,000. Credit
life insurance offers credit union members protection by reducing or paying off an outstanding loan balance in the event of death. Both the primary loan applicant and joint applicant can elect this coverage.
Credit disability insurance covering most temporary disability events with a 14-day non-retro pay. Credit
disability Insurance offers credit union members protection by making monthly loan payments if you become totally and continuously disabled by a covered sickness or accident. Both the primary loan applicant and joint applicant can elect this coverage.
Mechanical breakdown insurance (extended
warranty service) on new & pre-owned vehicles. Mechanical
breakdown insurance is provided to members interested in protecting their vehicle after their factory warranty has expired. This program is generally available to vehicles that have at least one month or 1,000 miles remaining on the full manufacturer’s warranty. For additional information, please contact a
credit union loan officer.
GAP insurance provides for a gap in coverage if the vehicle is stolen and not recovered or is damaged beyond repair for an insured reason, during the term of a loan. Under the GAP policy, the credit union is paid the difference between the settlement amount and the actual outstanding amount of the loan.
With GAP Plus Insurance, you can also receive $1,000 to apply to the
purchase of your next vehicle financed through the credit union.
